Instructions

Adding demo through the GitHub web interface

  1. On your computer, put the HTML file inside a folder called demos, you can add multiple HTML files to this folder.
  2. Navigate to the repository on GitHub: https://github.com/analythium/apps, log in if necessary to gain write access.
  3. Click on the “Add file” button and select “Upload files” to add a demo.
  4. Drag the demos folder containing your HTML file into the upload area on GitHub, this will upload the folder and its contents and you will see them listed for confirmation, e.g. /demos/demo-file-name.html, etc.
  5. Click on the “Commit changes” button to upload the files to the repository.

Updating through the command line

Prerequisites:

Check out the repository by running:

git clone https://github.com/analythium/apps.git

Now open the repository in your preferred code editor.

How to add a new app to this list:

  1. Create a new page in the repository with the app details.
  2. Include the embed_url in the front matter if the app should be embedded.
  3. Add the app to the appropriate section (Embedded Apps or Other Apps) in this list.
  4. Commit and push your changes (git commit -m "Add new app" && git push).
  5. The new app should now appear in the appropriate section on this page.

How to add a self-contained HTML demo:

  1. Create a new HTML file.
  2. Add your HTML content to the demo folder.
  3. Commit and push your changes (git commit -m "Add new demo" && git push).
  4. The new demo should now be accessible from the demos page.

Lastly, refresh the page and check if the new app or demo shows up correctly.
